Welcome to St. Raphael Church in Koloa

Welcome to our Parish! Saint Raphael Catholic Church in Koloa is a parish of the Roman Catholic Church of Hawaii in the United States. Located in Koloa on the island of Kauai, the church falls under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Honolulu and its bishop.

The oldest Catholic Church in Kauai, St. Raphael's was founded in 1841; two years after Catholics were granted religious freedom in Hawaii. Father Arsenius Walsh established the parish. The first stone chapel was built by Father Walsh in 1842.  In preparation for the Centennial anniversary in 1941, the Chapel sanctuary was rebuilt by parishioners.

Wednesday's after 7am Mass: Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help
Saturday 5pm: Sunday Vigil (New Church)                                              Sunday 7am (Historic Church)

Rosary is prayed 30 minutes before every mass

Stations of the Cross during Lent:  Every Friday at 6pm - outdoors, weather permitting


25 - Palm Sunday 7am & 9:30am

26 - Holy Monday Mass 7am

27 - Holy Tuesday Mass 7am and 6pm Lenten Reflection with Paul Koleske in New Church

28 - Holy Wednesday Mass with annointing of the sick in the historic church at 7am and 6:30pm

29 - Holy Thursday Mass 7pm with adoration until 9pm in the New Church

30 - Stations of the Cross at 2pm followed by Good Friday in the New Church at 3pm with Liturgy of the Word and Veneration of the Cross

31 - Holy Saturday in the New Church at 7pm - Easter Vigil

April 1st - 6am - Easter Sunrise service at the Grotto of the Risen Lord, NO 7am service, 9:30am Easter Sunday mass in the new church followed by Easter Egg Hunt

Ohana Mass: Third Sunday of every month @ 11:30am

Ohana mass is an adapted liturgy for and with families with sons and daughters of unique abilities and intellectual disabilities so that they may fully participate and worship where they feel accepted and welcomed.
